After completing my formal apprenticeship training and achieving my trade certificate qualification in New Plymouth my wife Mary-Lu and I decided it was time to see a bit of the world.
On our return I formed a building partnership and after a few years of gaining experience and expertise of running a business Mary-Lu and I began our own company Terry Clegg Builders Limited in 1998.
Our business is mainly residential housing, alterations and additions and occasionally embark on some light commercial work.
We pride ourselves on our personal approach, competitive fixed pricing, and quality finishing.

We have, on numerous occasions since 2002, put forward our homes to be judged in the annual Registered Master Builder House of the Year competition an honour that recognises excellence in workmanship, creativity, and innovation.
We’ve proudly received many Gold Awards, as well as the Supreme Award for Taranaki in 2004, 2008, and 2013.
In 2013, one of our homes was named a National Winner, a truly outstanding achievement.

I’m a Registered Master Builder, an executive member of the Taranaki Master Builders Association, and a judge for the Apprentice of the Year competition, something I value as a way to support young people entering the industry.
We’re also Licensed Building Practitioners, which means we’re always up to date with current regulations and practices.
In 2023 after 25 years in business we decided to update our company name to FORM By Terry Clegg Limited.

We chose this name as we felt it encapsulated our company and better enhanced our business. The word FORM means “bring together parts” or “combine to create”, which is exactly what we do.
